It’s a scenario that could lead to absolute disaster(for them, it would be great for us)

National Guard, Protesters, Police, with the chance that the NG lays their arms down or side with the protesters?

They’re shitting themselves nervous over it.

I’d be very surprised if anyone in uniform lays down arms and sides with protestors in this country.

I’ve been reading stories about people growing disillusioned with Trump for almost a decade now and yet nothing ever changes.

I agree, but it’s irrelevant to what I’m posting about. I understand that the military isn’t a monolith and there are some anti-Trump people there, but those who wear basically any uniform (national guard, military, police, ice, etc.) are largely Trump supporters and, despite some whining, I have yet to see any indicator that they’ll break with Trump.

I’ve been reading about cracks amongst his support for ten years and no major obstacles ever actually materialize.

Biden’s 4 years were kind of a major obstacle, and the 2018 mid-terms kind of got in the way.

November 2026 is just 17 months away, and if he tries something in 2028, there might be a lot of opposition, particularly if the economy continues to suffer.
