The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee quietly changed its eligibility rules on Monday to bar transgender women from competing in Olympic women’s sports, and now will comply with President Trump’s executive order on the issue, according to a post on the organization’s website.

Fine. I haven’t watched a single Olympic piece of shit athletic game? in like 20 years. Go ahead, ask me…who won gold for swimming in the pool like 3 or 4 times back and forth like a stupid mofo? Don’t know! Who gives a single australian cluster flying fuch? I don’t. I go swimming instead of watching swimming.

Wow they stopped maybe 5 whole people from competing in games that were supposed to be about bringing the world together that’s turned into just another shouting match between petty assholes taking the entire concept to hell.

Sports are games, fun little doofy things primarily for children that adults can like too. The shouting matches about doping, the doping itself, “no fair no fair they’re cheating,” and the massive paychecks for professional level sports are why I don’t give any of the bullshit the time of day and never will.

Leave it to humans to remove from a concept the entire reason for that concept’s creation in the first place: fun.

Fuck competition for competition’s sake. Cooperation should have been our species business. The minute both teams/players aren’t smiling and laughing after the game, the game has lost all meaning and has become a shitty game that shouldn’t exist. That goes for you NFL, NBA, and yes, even the Olympics.

Come back when it’s about the world coming together again and not geopolitical medal count competition screeching.

To hell with the Olympics. They’re incredibly dirty, they screw over the vast majority of competing athletes, and we already have professional sports organizations that feel the same need should you be interested.

Sorry, what about the men’s? If you are going to side with bullshitting Nazis that just want to distract and look up girls skirts, then men are subject too and I expect them to have to drop trouser at a moments notice and have their junk inspected. This is what you want, isn’t it?

Why not ban trans men too? They could have an advantage in the gymnastics and speed skating sports too from being lighter and more flexible. Or we can just not ban either and let people compete based on what they want.

Patricio Manuel is 3-1 in boxing. His main issue is men won’t fight him now because they’re terrified of losing to a trans man. It’s patriarchy all the way down, so generally the accomplishments of men who’ve transitioned and suppressed, because it kind of shatters the entire ‘unfair’ claim when trans men can win. It also doesn’t help them that being a trans woman isn’t some kind of automatic win; I can’t remember her name, one woman was claimed to be ‘cheating’ because she was trans, but she got 6th in the event. So the entire ‘huge advantage for people born men’ thing keeps getting disproved time and again.

Because these rules only care about men becoming women. Because the people making the rules are sexist and stupid bigots.

Upvoted because you provided your source and your argument is in good faith. However it’s disinformation, sorry. The IBA was discredited by the IOC due to many issues, and possible ties to Russia: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/jun/22/ioc-expels-international-boxing-association-olympic-movement

The “leaked” report has no additional information and is not credible. It is not accepted by the IOC nor myself. I find it unconvincing specifically because it was requested by the IBA.

You’ll notice the claim is parroted only on right wing “news” sources as well, like NY Post, which are notorious for disinformation and are not trustworthy or even news at all.

I disagree. I don’t think they know it’s disinformation. For the same reason I believe Khelif is a woman, I believe this person is telling the truth. That’s how these shitty “news” sites work.

She was ban from a competition where gender test where mandatory Last one she participate didn’t have thoses tests She never went to one that have thoses test mandatory Like the article said “Khelif has never provided any evidence beyond her word to prove she is a woman, but has vowed to compete in the upcoming games.”

I’m more encline and it seem it s more reasonable to believe she 's not a woman than she is.

If she was banned by the IBA I would not trust the test or their motives. If Putin specifically said literally anything, would you trust it?

The burden of proof is on the claimant, the default position is that she’s telling the truth. If I claimed you were a woman (assuming you are a man) with no credible proof and thus are ineligible for playing in any male sports, do you think that is fair and if not how is it different?

Yep, that confirms she is a woman, as she has no Y chromosome, and more importantly was born and identifies as a woman. Do you have specific evidence?

I don’t exactly watch the Olympic Games… But the times I’ve seen it, I’ve never seen a trans person participating 🤷 would be a valid move if half the female contestants weren’t born female I guess… But there aren’t any trans in the Olympics. They should make trans Olympics out of spite 🤷

This might not really apply to you and your beliefs, but I think it’s a discussion worth having and considering.

There are (were, I guess) trans woman competing. Why would their presence change their right to compete? Additionally, the studies are few and far between due to very low sample size, but there isn’t good evidence proving that trans women have a statistically significant advantage in women’s sports after being on HRT long term (2+ years). Most trans women that previously competed in men’s sports perform similarly compared to women after HRT as they did to men before.

The conservative “evidence” for trans women having an advantage is simply pointing and going “see!!” any time any trans woman places better than any cis woman, even if they’re well within the statistical range of women. If trans people are allowed to compete, are they allowed to ever win? In professional sports, getting lucky in the genetic lottery plays a large role in determining success. Katie Ledecky is incredibly successful due to her practice and training, but wouldn’t be nearly as successful without a body conducive to swimming. What’s the difference between a cis woman being born with broad shoulders and longer arms and a trans women doing the same? No one is transitioning for a competitive advantage. It’s a ridiculous notion. There really isn’t a good argument against trans women in sports that doesn’t rely on invalidating their gender or vibes-based cherry-picked pseudoscience.

I really want to read this, but it’s crazy long… But to answer your first sentence. I don’t have any opinions on it. I couldn’t care less. It’s such a non issue to focus on from the republicans. It’s something that sounds serious, but really isn’t. Because again, there’s not that many trans in the Olympics for it to be an issue. But putting it out there, together with how much the media is trying to profit from “woke” ideologies - making it all warped… It’s a mess, a complete shitshow. Add to that how fast information is coming at us. Then you got a shitshow where you can spin the narrative to some insane story to rally the masses. But, as I said, I really don’t care about it. Because I’m not trans. I care that the trans care and about human experience, but since it’s not my experience- I can’t speak on it. So, you do you and fight your fight. We all got our own injustice that rules our life.
