Makes me think how China could’ve eventually reunited with Taiwan if they just played a long game and didn’t destroy Hong Kong’s autonomy. But instead authoritarian habits kicked in.
That’s actually an interesting point. And you’re right, the effects of their HK policy will surely be to remove any doubt in Taiwanese minds that they need to defend their island with force.
