Right but if my neighbor across the street has one, my house is being surveilled a lot more than is theirs.
Right but if my neighbor across the street has one, my house is being surveilled a lot more than is theirs.
And not just without proof, but to ignore proof if you see it!
Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
And
Proverbs 28:26 26 Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.
I think I was unclear. Mario is my favorite. I’m the plebian I’m talking about. I’m a gamer and Thousand Year Door on GameCube is my favorite game of all time. I don’t mind a bit that they threw thunderstruck in. My dad was in the theater with me and my brother, and my sister, and my nephews. All of us are obsessed with Mario but my Dad and sister, and thunderstruck meant my dad and sister were enjoying that scene as much as us, even though they didn’t get the more subtle Mario Easter eggs.
I think I was unclear. Mario is my favorite. I have been told I’m not really a gamer over it. That’s all I meant. I’m the plebian I’m talking about. Thousand Year Door on GameCube is my favorite game of all time, with Stardew as a close competitor. A lot of my gamer friends are fine calling me a gamer but I’ve definitely been hate kept over these preferences.
Idk, I think the issue here is that Mario is for plebians. I don’t know any “real” gamers who would answer a Mario game as their favorite game. Hell they likely wouldn’t be naming a platform game period. Why wouldn’t they throw in a song like that? Mario is fun for everyone, and it’s one of the video games that isn’t niche, has little to no barrier to entry and is just goofy and fun. Why wouldn’t the movie just be goofy and fun?
I think Christopher Robin and maleficent were good. As long as they’re telling a new story it’s fun to see the old characters. When it’s just the exact same plot but a little darker and live action over animation it’s so dumb. Our CGI just ain’t good enough to justify that.
They’re remaking Moana already, and still a new movie, relative.
parents out there … clue me in, but isn’t this the pinnacle of irresponsibility, even on a cool day?
What she did is reprehensible, irresponsible, disgusting. That said, letting your baby finish their nap in a climate controlled car used to be very common. You could park down your driveway, leave the car on, bring in your groceries (and even put them away), and then get the baby out, but now able to give him your full attention. It’s not acceptable to do that today. I have spent so many many hours in my driveway letting my baby finish their nap. Apparently if you remove the car seat from the base the angle is more dangerous for them to rest at, but unbuckling her means the end of a nap. I have wished it was safe to leave her in there alone every time and if I was a slightly less informed mother, I probably would. I would say if the car is climate controlled it’s probably the same amount or less dangerous than co sleeping and like half of parents do that (I do not). Parents make a lot of choices.
Honestly good you got out. I still think about some of the darker parts of the books. The older and more aware I become the sicker they make me feel.
Yeah, or that it wasn’t even sneaky, they just all agreed a couple of those episodes up front would broaden the appeal, and felt confident people would stick around once they got attached to the characters and into the sci-fi
Lots of people warning you about alcoholism. Idk. I drink coffee strategically every day, and that’s a drug. But also yes, I sometimes drink alcohol strategically. If I know I’m going to hang out with my sister who I love but disagree with on many many things, i have a drink or two. I try to dull my brain just enough that I am too slow to get offended at every single thing (or just don’t care to, maybe?) in the end, we have a great time, I don’t get all debate-ey with her, and instead just appreciate the good things about her. We don’t see each other that often so I genuinely don’t see any danger from this coping mechanism.
Yeah, student loans, rent, and healthcare eat up the majority of a lot of people’s income here
Kenneth Parcel’s mom’s new friend Ron
Looks like you’ve got a long list already, but the last movie that made me lump in my throat cry was Awakenings with Robin Williams and Robert deNiro
He’s not Jack Black in “the big year” he also did a movie about being a mortician in a small town or something. Not that good of a movie, but definitely not Jack Black
I put a little string of fake pearls on my daughter about every day, and they were mine and my sisters’ when I was a toddler, so they’re about 30. I don’t know how they’ve survived so many toddlers cause they’d break with any real pulling. She loves them though and is very careful with them. She also uses tiny baby sized silverware from my mom’s babyhood(early 70s) It’s cute and funny to watch her use miniature stuff that’s just her size
I think that’s the oldest thing other than furniture (we use my great grandfather’s bedroom suite)
Y’all are crazy. Very responsible. I drop my phone every single day. Often outside onto the concrete. I break my screen protectors all the time. I’ve only ever messed up an actual screen once (stupid like wrap around screen so the case was not sufficient). I buy extremely cheap cases and screen protectors, and they always work.
I’m clumsy, but also I guess thoughtless. I’m constantly bending over to pick up my kid and it just tumbles out of my pockets. Idk. The screen protectors last between one week and 6 months. Usually a couple of months, but then the cracks/chips are so little I just take ages to replace it, so I’m only buying one like twice a year. You can get 3 for under 10 bucks so it’s basically worth the cost to not have to be precious about your phone all the time.
A parent shouldn’t be letting their single digit aged child have unsupervised access to the Internet. Agreed that they shouldn’t be publicizing it, but this idea that parents should be letting their kids have secrets when they’re so little is one way dangerous adults take advantage of kids.
I mean the fascination is with money. People are looking for ways to pay their rent.
How old are you guys, if you don’t mind me asking? It seems that generally younger people don’t see this as an innate violation of privacy, where older people feel quite surveilled and even like they’re being viewed as untrustworthy for someone to ask this of them.
I’ve never cheated on my spouse (not even close), I’ve never felt any inclination to lie about my whereabouts. I can see the safety aspect of this, logically. I would feel offended if my spouse asked me to be a dot on his phone, as if he was asking to own me. We share a home, a child, a bank account, a car, but we don’t share location. I don’t even keep my location activated for my own use unless I’m actively navigating somewhere new.
We’ve got plenty of “normal” problems, but none of them lead me to want his location. I simply trust him enough. It feels to me like if you need your partners location on tap, you must first have other problems
