The teen didn’t collide with the SUV … the SUV hit and killed the teen.

If that isn’t the case, and things being as they are, the law is meaningless when it comes to Trump. He ignores rulings he doesn’t like, outright disobeys court-ordered actions, lies to the court (through lawyers) and lies to Congress and Americans all the time.
HellsBelle@sh.itjust.worksOPto News@lemmy.world•Chief Justice Roberts says judicial independence is key to checking Congress and the presidentEnglish2·2 days agoAt this point I’m not sure that’s as important as it should be, because Trump is, in effect, doing whatever he wants – including ignoring the courts.

Here’s the thing tho, that lawyer isn’t even part of the defense team. He’s simply a spectator in the courtroom who happens to be a lawyer and that’s what the judge is holding him accountable for, ie: he should know the rules and keep his mouth shut.
HellsBelle@sh.itjust.worksOPto News@lemmy.world•Judge at Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial scolds lawyer for calling prosecutors 'six pack of white women'English1·2 days agoI think we could give some leeway for a lawyer pointing out the racial politics of having 6 white female prosecutors outside the fucking courtroom
If he had said something about 6 white male prosecutors would you have still said the same thing? Probably not.
