Nah it was a real e-ink kindle. It just wasn’t for me i guess.

I would say reading books. It’s a long form activity that is a strong counter to the brain rot of scrolling and being mindlessly entertained by 100 different things for 10 seconds each. I find that when I read I have more vivid dreams which I think is definitely a sign that my brain has been fired up.
Same! I’ve read 1 (one) book in my life on a kindle and hated it. Physical books are just really cool, or maybe it’s just preference because that’s what I grew up with.
All I’m doing is pointing out that the above evidence is flawed. I can do that without a full-throated defense of the American police apparatus.
Those are cherrypicked numbers. You are comparing COVID America to pre-covid other countries. France dropped from 80% to 50% in 2020
People just split for irreconcilable differences all the time, they don’t owe the public an explanation.
The hell is a “major state”
I kinda love dubstep tbh a lot of it is stupid but I love how distinct and intense it is.
Waiting on the world to change is that for me.
I was gonna say Happy by Pharrel Williams but someone else said Sweet Caroline and I might have to change my vote. Actually it’s not that terrible of a song (Sweet Caroline I mean), but hearing it played at weddings and sporting events and then they pause it so everyone can scream BUM BUM BUMMM does get to me after the 5 millionth time.
Yeah as someone who has spent almost their whole life in the Carolinas I am sick to death of that song, especially when people do the little singalong bits.
I hate to say ok boomer but that is a painfully boomer take
Honestly? I think if you had access to social media for any time in the last 100 years you would feel overwhelmed. The nature of the beast is there is ALWAYS something happening. There’s ALWAYS something to be angry about.
I’m not so sure eating out a restaurant that doesn’t use disposable utensils/dishes is really wasteful at all. The only difference i can think of is if you drove a long distance to get there. But it might actually be more efficient from an energy consumption perspective. You might have to heat up your oven just for a meal for a few people but they are going be cooking up a lot of stuff at once. I’d say the much bigger factors are a) are you wasting good and b) what kind of food are you eating.
I’m really just here for the memes and tech/science stuff, and the occasional interesting discussion
Huh? I’m literally talking about like anxiety memes, adhd, autism, etc. Just not topics I find interesting.
Don’t have any instances blocked, but I block all the political, trans, furry, and mental illness communities. I wish people wouldn’t post political stuff to the YSK or general memes communities, there are 5 million better places to post that on lemmy, but it’s manageable.
I assume moe? Which I think means cute?
Virgin online activist vs the CHAD meme and amateur pornography enjoyer
I went to Bakersfield, CA for work several times. I was told by locals it has the worst air quality in the US and I’d believe it; it gets all rhe smog from the big cities nearby. You can’t see to the horizon its just haze in every direction.
