Significantly different in most communities. Much more collab work for one. Plus faster changes in general. Hard to game an algorithm when everyone has a different one and in different places. The people are just nicer here. I feel like I can actually have a conversation without being drowned.

I don’t block much but I do have a couple of filters that do good work on Piefed.

Peertube channels seem to have real issues on Lemmy. They fixed the links earlier in the year…then it broke again. That’s just one instance.

Piefed works out of the box and if you upvote, it shows up on the peertube instance. Comments as well. Take a look at !peertube@lemmy.world on both lemmy.world and piefed.social. you can see the difference when clicking on someone’s account.

You can export/import all your communities should you wish. I did the jump from Lemmy to Piefed and it took about 5 minutes, mostly just the sign up process.

If they go online, then yeah updates are a good thing.

Personally, I just dont make it go online. Calibre is so good that updates only make it worse.
