    It’s part of the strategy.
Overwhelm the news cycle, see what the news picks up and push that more, let the actual bad stuff go under-reported.

People keep trying to attribute planning to what can be much more plausibly explained by idiocy. Trump is not “strategically” dozing the rose garden to distract from the real news, he’s just a tasteless brutish moron.

People keep trying to attribute maliciousness to stupidity as well. Mostly because it’s easier to dismiss stupidity than argue against it.

He’s shortsighted, narcissistic, and petty. But he doesn’t do things just to prove how much of a big idiot he is. Dismissing everything he does as “idiocy” just gives him more leash to piss on everyone from.

I wouldn’t say those two things are mutually exclusive, Trump is dumber than shit and also a raging malicious bastard. The Nazis were both malicious as hell and stupid as fuck.

I would say the opposite. At least for the basis of this train of thought. That maliciousness makes one single-minded in their ideals and goals, which inevitably devolves into “Get mine, fuck them”. Which is inherently destructive, both for the person in question and those around them.

But why? Just calling things dumb, or stupid, or idiotic without any explanation is just a grade school way of saying “I don’t like a thing”. Without seeking a way to understand, and thus overcome it, it’s always just going to be “I’m smart and they’re dumb”, which is often the argument of those you’d criticize of “inherent stupidity”.

It’s the gish gallop of news: do as much bullshit as possible so nothing can be effectively blocked or countered.

He is. But the people around him and controlling/handling him aren’t idiots.
It’s either in project 2025, or some other republican playbook. Scattershot out a bunch of crazy news to swamp the news cycle and overwhelm everyone, then get to work doing the dirty stuff

Exactly. Yet another truly awful something is about to happen that’ll get buried under his new patio.
