Exclusionary and traditionalist politics are gaining steam in Australia as they are in the rest of the Western world. This election was no doubt a good outcome but, just like in Canada and the US, support for conservatism and far right politics is growing among young Australian men. This will become problematic in the next 10 to 15 years as historically this demographic inherits control of the institutions.

Yeah this is the most ham fisted go at it.

I’m not sure one can say that the Pakistani government has been responsible as it has allowed the militant group that was previously funded by Osama Bin Laden and committed the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai to continue to exist on its soil.

That said, I am by no means absolving India’s Hindu nationaliat government for the injustice of revoking article 370.

Unfortunately, many Western countries are inching towards fascism due to failed neoloberal policies and rising antiimmigrant sentiment.

Canada and Australia were able to at least delay it in their most recent elections.

I don’t engage with them being outside the US but we do have a ‘Maple MAGA’ here which is similar.

Terrifying to hear that there are many in the US that are eager to do this type of work.

Yeah at some point one has to assume they just don’t care. It’s why they force feed their population propaganda from a young age.

Americans are completely disengaged politically. Most are too busy consooming, side hustling or paying healthcare bills.

The rest are getting their news from Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

I haven’t met a GenZ American that’s media literate.

You and I both know they select those least likely to think for themselves. But one can hope.

How does America have so many cowards willing to do this job?

Anything that makes Canada more competitive is a win in my book.

The only way this could hypothetically accomplish reshoring is if it was heavily government subsidized which has not been the stated intention. Trump wants to keep tariff revenue to enrich himself and his cronies.

No one is investing millions to reshore when Trump changes his mind on tariffs every few days.

Any tariff over 100% stalls trade completely. He’s probably feeling pressure over that.

Sounds like he’s negotiating with himself in the corner while China laughs at this point.

Americans probably should be taught more about their government’s neocolonial actions.

There was always rot in America’s foundation of which most of the world and I hope Americans were well aware.

Canada’s servicemen and women died as your brothers and sisters when the US invoked article 5 of NATO in response to the 9/11 attacks.

This is a betrayal that won’t soon be forgotten.

A public office should not be promoting a private enterprise. That’s not what tax dollars are for. Musk can pay for marketing and advertising like the rest of his competitors do.

Hopefully other nations see this cronyism and tell the US administration to stuff it.
