I also voted Kamala and tbh it made me extremely uncomfortable. I knew Kamala wouldn’t be a good president, I knew she would send more money to genocide, I knew she would do very little (if anything) to stop states from discriminating, and I knew her economic plan would likley make everything worse. Because in every single aspect she was and is a horrible candidate who objectively would not do well at anything, however the standard for American politicans is in hell so shes not even the worst. Im just sad, we had Obama who wasnt really progressive but he chose Biden as his VP to appeal to the establishment, then Biden became president and chose Kamala who is was significantly less progressive then him, then we became expected to vote Kamala which would have been a continuation of the last two dem presidents but even less progressive. But im not just looking at the past, im looking at the future and im scared. What happens if the Dems choose some candidate like Shapiro, Fetterman, or Newsom? What if the Democrats rig their primaries as theyve been known to do or what if they dont hold one at all?

‘Rigging the primaries’ as in picking the person who had the most votes?

Cmon man. Did the dems play politics? Sure they did. Do you honestly expect people who are part of an established party to not rally around a candidate that has been a steadfast loyalist in the party for decades, who championed the original version of public healthcare, and instead, rally around a dude who says all the right things but can’t legislate for anything?

This is letting perfect be the enemy of good.

Perfect? This is sacrificing bearly good enough for slightly better than the other guy. In addition even politicans who used to advocate for public services are starting to abandon that as the Democrats take a hard shift right. Democrats have proven that they are either unwilling and/or unable to do what is nessesary for the workers. Its too late to appease the masses with better healthcare and a $15 minimum wage, the corruption in the system has been exposed and change is desperately needed. We need fundamental economic reform, the tax code needs to be replaced, foreign policy needs to be restructured, infrastructure needs to be not only fixed but expanded, and gun laws need to be changed. These are core changes that Democrats have promised for decades yet continue to fail to provide, now its too late. The Democrats sat around with ideas of infinite economic growth and unlimited power, now their hubris will be their downfall.

Sweet. Democrats had plans for a lot of those things, and you guys stayed home and now we have a Nazi in the white house.

Did you not read what I said? I voted Kamala but I am fed up and done with this nonsense. People voted for Obama to do this, he didnt. People voted for Biden to do this, he didnt. Now people like me are expected that things will magically change as the Democrats openly abandon their promises to appeal to the mythical moderate Republican.

Obama had an entire republican party and Joe Libermann stopping medicare for all. Blame Joe Liebermann, not the guy who tried to get it done.

Biden had one of the thinnest congresses in history, yet his ledger is still full of progressive asks. That apparently isn’t good enough, because he didn’t get you 100% of what you wanted.

This is the entire problem. You expect 100% of what you demand, and when you don’t get it, you’re ‘done’ and don’t want to participate anymore.

Thank you for highlighting this for me.

They got less than 5% of what I wanted and the next candidate will give me 3% if im lucky (also both Biden and Obama didnt try to reform the system in any meaningful way)
